Something to Remember
Obviously, this November marks 100 years since the end of World War 1. We have written some original music and arranged
some classics for this occasion. You can review the scores and listen to Finale renditions by following the links to our website.
In Flanders Field This is a sensitive arrangement for a modern brass band of Sousa's setting of John McCrae's poem "In Flanders Field the Poppies Grow" composed in 1917.
1918 Remembered Is an original composition with an opening section featuring bugle calls and a resultant melody from the parts played by the cornets, horns and euphoniums reminding us of the WW1 spirit of adventure and uncertainty that the soldiers shared going to the front. A slower lament forms the middle section and more traditional victory march forms the final section.
A fresh arrangement of WW1 favourites including excerts from Oh! I hate to get up in the morning (I Berlin), Pack up your troubles (F Powell), It's a long way to Tipperary (J Judge & H Williams), Keep the home fires burning (I Novello), In Flanders field (J P Sousa), Goodbye-ee (R P Weston & B Lee), Take me back to dear old Blighty (A J Mills, F Godfrey & B Scott).
Mars subtitled "The Bringer of War" was written in 1914 although the suite was not completed until 1916 and not performed until September 1918 (when WW1 was in its final months). This arrangement is designed to be playable by lower section brass bands.
1918 Victory March is an extended version of the Victory March from the final section of 1918 Remembered which can be substituted. The inserted trio is different and memorable!
